Here are the top 10 best public high schools in Virginia, according to U.S. News & World Report:
No. 1 - Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, Alexandria (which also ranked No. 5 in the nation).

- No. 3 - Richmond Community High School
- No. 4 - McLean High School
- No. 5 - Langley High School, McLean
- No. 6 - Oakton High School, Vienna
- No. 7 - George Mason High School, Falls Church
- No. 8 - Yorktown High School, Arlington
- No. 9 - Marshall High School, Falls Church
- No. 10 - W.T. Woodson High School, Fairfax
